Dear EBSA Families,

Thank you for your patience and continued support as our organization and our community works through how to best give our children safe opportunities to play softball and baseball.  We are committed to giving you ongoing updates, and while we do not have any final decisions about what is possible this summer or fall, we want you to know the following:

  • Refunds of house softball and baseball league registration fees have taken longer than we expected because of the volume of work that our 3rd party vendor, SportsEngine, is handling throughout the United States.  We are thankful for your understanding and hope that the remaining refunds will be completed in the coming weeks.
  • We are adhering to the guidelines issued by local and state leaders related to the return of youth sports.  As those requirements change, we will adjust our plan with the goal of bringing baseball and softball back as soon as possible.
  • Our upcoming updates will also include community aid resources, including specific support for children; as well as ways that you can get involved and give back through community service.

Hoping you are all safe and well.  Please send questions to:

Very best,

The EBSA Board

Following Illinois, Chicago, and District 65 recommendations regarding Coronavirus, Evanston Baseball and Softball Association (EBSA) has suspended ALL activities until further notice. As with other organizations, we encourage all parents, volunteers and players to follow health officials' guidelines, especially knowing when to stay home. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have questions specific to our decisions, please email us at  We will communicate any updates via email, posting on our website and social media accounts.

Please continue reading for information on registration refunds, supporting our sponsors and softball pitching videos.

Registration Fees

Given that the spring season will not be played as planned, we will be issuing refunds to all registrants at this point. You can expect refunds to be processed in the next 1-2 weeks. Once we know when we'll be able to play ball again, we will make an announcement about a revised schedule and registration process.

Softball Pitching Videos

Abby Hanrahan, an expert pitching instructor and friend of EBSA, produced a series of instructional videos covering the fundamentals of softball pitching.  Please have your kids take a look at this helpful content.  Though we are disappointed that Abby's March EBSA clinic could not be held, our thanks go to Abby for finding a way to continue teaching our softball players the skills they need to succeed.  Abby's tutorials can be found here: You-still-get-to-have-your-pitching-clinic!
