Fall baseball - general information

Similar to Summer Ball, EBSA organizes Fall Ball against neighboring towns for Major (Bronco) and Pony league for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. The Fall ball league is organized through North Suburban Youth Baseball Association.

The fall 2019 league will run from late-August (tentative) through mid-October.

There are three age groups, based on the 2018-2019 school year grades:
Mustang- Kids entering 3rd/4th grade in Fall 2019 – Played on a 60-ft diamond
Bronco – Kids entering 5th/6th grade in Fall 2019 – Played on a 70-ft diamond
Pony-  Kids entering 7th/8th/9th grade in Fall 2019 – Played on an 80-ft diamond

The Mustang (Middle) fall league will operate as an instructional league with travel program led coaching.  This will consist of 5 or 6 clinics on Tuesday evenings during the week run by EBSA Travel Coordinator, Joe Knudsen, likely starting the last week of August.  The teams will play Evanston v. Evanston games on Saturdays, and start on Saturday, September 7, after the first two weeks of clinics.  After the clinics end, 2 midweek games will be included in the schedule.  The goal is to get players ready for the full Spring season of kid-pitch baseball.

Bronco and Pony games are played in Evanston and in neighboring towns against Evanston and out of town teams (Skokie, Niles, Lincolnwood, Edgebrook, Wilmette, Winnetka, etc).

The fall 2018 league will run from the week of August 25 (tentative) through the week of October 14.  Playoffs: October TBD

Bronco usually plays an 8 -10 game season, with most games on Saturday morning or afternoon, with 1 weeknight game on a Thursday or Friday, and occasionally on Sunday for out of town games.  The season will end with a playoff tournament.

Pony usually plays a 10 game season, with games on Saturday or Sunday and occasional games during the week, usually on a Thursday or Friday night.  The season will end with a playoff tournament.
